Vinification | A portion of the destemmed grapes undergoes maceration for 4-5 days, utilizing the action of the natural yeasts present on the grapes. At this point, a cuvée is made with directly pressed grapes, and the vinification continues in large acacia barrels, where it ages for a period of 9 months with periodic bâtonnage. Malolactic fermentation also takes place during this time. |
Production area | The vineyard is located in the Prabi area of Valle dei Laghi and is characterized by alluvial soils formed over centuries by deposits from the Sarca River that runs alongside it. The Sarca originates in the Adamello Brenta park, a geologically area with volcanic rocks, dolomites, and schists from Val Rendena. The climate is influenced by the Ora del Garda wind and constant cool evening breezes, which help slow the ripening process of the grapes while maintaining wellbalanced, sustained acidity. The vines are trained in the Guyot system, with a density of 7,000 plants per hectare and an average age of about 20 years. |
Production | 6.000 bottles, depending on the vintage. |
Other curiosities
A crossbreed born from the union between Riesling and Pinot Blanc by Professor Luigi Manzoni, from whom it takes its name. It has inherited the advantages of both parents: good body, aromatic complexity, and longevity. The resulting wines exhibit intense aromas of white flowers and fruits (peach and green apple), with spicy notes. After a few years of bottle aging, it expresses the typical aromas of aged Riesling.
