VineyardPressano hill at an altitude of about 500 m.
SoilThe soil is composed of sedimentary rocks made of compact sandstone and limestone.
VinificationA portion of the destemmed grapes undergoes maceration for 4-5 days in steel tank. The fermentation continues in large acacia barrels, where the wine remains for the aging, in contact with the yeast for about 9 months, with periodic bâtonnage. The acacia wood allows the advantages of wood fermentation to be combined with the preservation of Nosiola's delicate and refined bouquet.
Production areaNosiola blooms early and prefers high, well-ventilated, and sunny areas; the vineyards are located on the Pressano hill at an altitude of about 500 meters, bordering the forest. The exposure is to the northeast, and the soil is loose, situated on a deep Dolomite alluvial fan with balanced fertility. The vines have an average age of 35 years and are trained in the simple pergola system, with a density of about 3,500 plants per hectare.
Production10.000 bottles, depending on the vintage.
Other curiosities

Since the time of the Council of Trent, Nosiola is the only native white grape variety from Trentino. The origin of its name is still unclear; many believe it comes from "hazelnut" due to the color of the grapes when they ripen, while others think the aroma of the wines recalls that of wild hazelnuts. This is a versatile variety, one of the few in the world that can produce both great sweet wines and savory still whites, which can age for many decades.

Once widespread throughout the province, Nosiola was primarily cultivated on the Pressano hill and in the Valle dei Laghi. In recent times, the variety has been significantly reduced in favor of international varieties, making it almost "rare." Today, it covers a cultivated area of only 65 hectares. As winemakers tied to our land and traditions, we are happy to contribute to its preservation.
